The dental assistant helps the dentist during patient examinations and treatment procedures. They sterilize dental instruments, may take x-rays, digital pictures, make dental impressions, polish, apply fluoride and sealants to your teeth.

Two of our assistants are trained in the use of whitening products, including Zoom treatment.

Vivian

Vivian is a dedicated dental professional with over 20 years of experience at St.Albert Dental Centre. She has advanced her skills and knowledge through completing her Bachelor of Science Degree, local anesthetics module, and prescribes module. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids and hiking.

Samantha

Samantha

Samantha is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a diploma in dental hygiene. In her spare time, she is an assistant coach for Concordia University of Edmonton’s badminton team. She also enjoys spending time with her dog Watson – a beagle corgi!

Jessy

Jessy

Jessy graduated from the University of Alberta with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2018. She continued her education and achieved a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene with distinction in 2019. Additionally, she has her local anesthetic certification. Jessy joined St. Albert Dental Centre in 2020 and enjoys expanding her skills and knowledge. Outside of work, Jessy loves to go to the mountains whenever she gets the chance.

Megan

Megan graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Megan was inspired to become a dental hygienist by her own dental hygienist. She is passionate about caring for her patients’ health and developing meaningful relationships with them. She feels fortunate to be in a health profession that allows her to make a difference in people’s lives.
She enjoys working out, spending time with friends and family, volunteering, skiing and trying new cafes in her free time.

Amy is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and local anesthetic certification. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, and reading in her free time.

Dorsa

Dorsa graduated with high honours from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene. Passionate about oral health and prevention, she enjoys making a difference in people’s oral and systemic health through preventative care.
Before pursuing Dental Hygiene, Dorsa graduated from Douglas College with her Associate Degree in Criminology. Dorsa has recently moved to Alberta. She likes to do yoga or simply enjoy a walk by the River Valley in her spare time. She is excited to explore what Alberta has to offer.

Julia graduated from the University of Alberta and enjoys continually learning new things. She likes to run and spend time with family and friends in her spare time.

Tynee

Tynee graduated from Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries, where she graduated with honours. She is originally from Edmonton but moved to Toronto in 2020 for hygiene school. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and is a big foodie who loves to try new restaurants and cook new recipes. She also loves to travel, and her favourite place that she has visited so far is Singapore.
